Post-Surgical Rehab

Physical therapy following a major surgery shouldn't look the same for everyone, but unfortunately often times it is. While there are concerns immediately post op that need to be taken into consideration, your rehab program should be focused around your particular long term goals. Consider two people with knee replacements. One wants to return to cycling, one to golf. We don't think their rehab should look the same, and you shouldn't either.

What types of surgeries should be followed with physical therapy?

  • Ligament Repairs (ACL, PCL, MCL)
  • Tendon Repairs (rotator cuff, achilles)
  • Joint Replacements (shoulder, hip, knee, ankle)
  • Spinal Surgeries (fusions, discectomies, laminectomies)
  • Rotator Cuff Repairs
  • Meniscus Repairs
  • Fracture Repairs
